Event Description

WHAT WE DO: Naturalist Clare leads 2-hour bumble bee group surveys in restored prairie habitat. Volunteers take photos and tally species, then Clare submits findings to the WI Dept. of Natural Resource’s Bumble Bee Brigade program. No prior knowledge or experience is needed as Clare provides on-site training. Note that we walk on uneven ground.

SUPPLIES:  Camera (phone cameras work great) if you wish. Sun protection, water, walking shoes. Restrooms are available.

SIGNUP:  Email Clare at carlson.clare@countyofdane.com to join a survey. Youth welcome when accompanied by guardian.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:  If we must cancel, volunteers will be emailed at least one hour before the survey.

NOTE: Locations may change due to floral resources.  Volunteers are emailed as soon as possible of any changes.
