Event Description

Join the energetic Friends of Silverwood as they host land mangement workdays from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Projects could include: cutting, hauling and piling brush, burning brush piles (when conditions permit) clearing trails of fallen branches.

Bring a chainsaw if you are certified as a sawyer with Dane County Parks (call 608-516-3703 for chainsaw usage guidelines) or just bring work gloves to help pile. A lopper or handsaw would be helpful at times. Dress appropriately for the weather!

We will be working into the lunch hour and beyond. Stay as long as you have time for and bring your own lunch and water to satisfy your needs. Sorry, due to Covid concerns we will not be sharing food.

Covid-19 guidelines: Wear a mask at orientation, break, and when social distancing of at least 6' cannot be maintained. Do not attend if experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms.
