Dane County Opens Snowmobile Trails - PLEASE READ

The Dane County Council of Snowmobile Clubs and the Dane County Parks Division have opened the snowmobile trails in the Northwest Quadrant of Dane County as of 1:30 pm today.  This area is defined as east of Highway 51 and north of Highway 18/151, including the Military Ridge State Trail.

ALL DANE COUNTY SNOWMOBILE TRAILS WILL BE OPEN AS OF 4 P.M. TODAY, DECEMBER 9, 2008.

Please call the Parks Information Line at 608-242-4576 for current conditions.  Information will also be posted on the Parks website at www.countyofdane.com/lwrd/parks.                     

Paul Statz, Council President, encourages snowmobiler’s to use caution, since this is the first time the trails have been open this season.  There are some changes in the trails this year and people should snowmobile with that in mind.

Darren Marsh, Park Director, asks snowmobiler’s to stay on the trails and respect the property of private landowners who have given permission for the trail to cross their land.
