Dane County staff and consulting firm LanDesign will present an overview and solicit comments on a preliminary draft master plan for a 292-acre Dane County property (former Sunnyside Seed Farm) within the Black Earth Creek Natural Resource Area. The public informational meeting is scheduled for March 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Middleton Town Hall. Doors open at 6:30 for viewing maps on display. Some of the preliminary recommendations for the property include adding two small parking areas and trails, managing it as a Dane County Wildlife Area open to public hunting and other compatible recreation uses, enhancing woodland and grassland habitat, and consideration of future expansions for improved public access, additional recreation opportunities, and cohesive resource management. The property is located near the intersection of Hwy 14 and Twin Valley Road in the Town of Middleton.
