Dane County Monitoring Trail Conditions as New Snow Arrives

March 02, 2012

March 2, 2012 – With the pending new snow, Dane County Parks is monitoring conditions to determine if grooming can be done on the county cross-country ski trails.  The County will attempt to pack a base at CamRock County Park in eastern Dane County and Lake Farm County Park if conditions are favorable.

While Dane County snowmobile trails remain closed at this time, the Dane County Snowmobile Council will be monitoring trails during this snow event.  Trail information will be updated on the Parks website at www.countyofdane.com/lwrd/parks/and the Parks 24/7 information line at 608-242-4576.

Conditions may be challenging as we prepare for the snow.  The ground has little to no frost in many areas and in low-lying areas there has been water standing on the trails.  We do encourage skiers to try to utilize the county trails, set their own tracks and make the best of this limited opportunity.
