County Snowmobile Trails

All Dane County snowmobile trails will open at noon on March 5, 2014.  The recent snowfalls have provided enough of a snow base to provide for snowmobiling in Dane County.  The Council of Snowmobile Clubs and the Dane County Parks Division will keep the trails open as long there is adequate snow depth and steady below freezing temperatures.  Please note that Trail 29N from City of Stoughton (Intersection 2A) to Lake Kegonsa is closed for the season (see attached map).  Trail 29N from Lake Kegonsa North will remain open.

Duane Meyers, Council President, encourages snowmobiler’s to use caution since they may encounter icy conditions under the new snow.  During the last warm spell, water collected in low areas along the trails, stated Meyers. We hope that snowmobilers will be able to enjoy this late season opportunity.
