Verona Public Library (500 Silent St. Verona, WI 53593)

MADISON, WI – October 1, 2018: Dane County Parks staff will hold a public information meeting on October 10, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Verona Public Library (500 Silent St. Verona, WI 53593). The meeting will include an overview of the history of Prairie Moraine County Park, vegetation goals outlined in the Prairie Moraine Master Plan, and efforts to manage and restore park vegetation going forward.

Prairie Moraine County Park has a unique cultural and natural history and is one of the most visited and popular parks in Dane County. The park supports a dog exercise area and an important section of the Ice Age Trail that runs along the terminal moraine of the last glaciation.

Staff and volunteers are working to combat invasive species, promote native grasses and flowers, and manage park vegetation for public enjoyment. At the meeting, attendees can learn about vegetation goals for the parks and what they can do to help the effort.
