Event Description

Sawyers and haulers (brush stackers) needed to remove unwanted trees in prairie areas. Loppers and other brush removal equipment will be provided. Haulers do not need prior experience. Sawyers will have to bring their own chainsaw and PPE and must be certified to use a chainsaw on Dane County Park properties. This means having a signed chainsaw waiver and copy of your safety certifications on file with DCP.

What to Bring: Wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, and closed toed shoes. Dress for the weather.  Bring own drinking water, a snack, and work gloves.

Covid-19 Guidelines: The CDC and WI DHS have issued new recommendations regarding the current Covid-19, Delta variant situation. We will be sanitizing shared equipment and ask that participants keep at least 6' of distance between each other. Masks will not be required while outdoors.  If you have cold or flu symptoms or a pending COVID test, please do not attend.

The group will meet at the top of the hill on Hidden Farm Road. You may park in the Orchard Hill Park parking lot or along Hidden Farm Road.
