Native Bees in Stewart Park: A Walk & Talk with Susan Carpenter

Event Description
Susan Carpenter, UW Arboretum naturalist since 2003, will address “Pollinators on the Prairie,” and guide a Bee Walk and Talk. She leads the Arboretum’s bumble bee conservation project and collaborates with the state-wide Bumble Bee Brigade with particular interest in the federally endangered rusty patched bumble bee. Participants should meet at 410 Blue View Drive (east side of park) in order to take advantage of the highland meadow and prairie areas, and the Friends pollinator garden. She will stress bee habitat and the role of the citizen scientist.
