Dane Co. Parks to Present Badger Prairie Co. Park & Mad. Area Youth Soccer Assn. Draft Master Plans

Dane County Parks planning staff has completed a draft master plan for Badger Prairie County Park. Input from the public and park stakeholders for preparation of the draft plan has been ongoing since June of 2007. Some of the draft recommendations for changes to the park include an additional shelter area, a new small dog exercise area, improving park access to surrounding neighborhoods (both motorized and non-motorized), improvements to the existing trail systems, proposed community garden area, a new playground area and updates to the aeromodeling field area. In addition to the park, a representative from the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) will be on hand to present a draft master plan for improvements to their facility on Cross Country Road. MAYSA currently leases land from Dane County for operation of the Reddan Soccer Complex in the Town of Verona.

A public information meeting to present the plans and solicit input will be held on Monday, April 13th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Community Room A & B of the Verona Public Library, 500 Silent Street, Verona, 53593.
